June 14, 2006- The pressures to raise taxes and spend more money are intense. Once in a while a lawmaker shows outstanding leadership in bucking the establishment and the special interests to protect the taxpayers who foot the bills. In such cases, we like to point that out and call on the public to tell him to keep up the good work. Not only does it reward such leadership, it gives incentives to other lawmakers who might be considering whether to side with the special interests or the citizens.

One such example of a lawmaker who has done outstanding work for his constituents is Kevin Calvey, a state representative in Oklahoma.

We congratulate Mr. Calvey on his fine work for Oklahoma taxpayers and hope that others will follow in his footsteps to keep standing up for what is right.
